Green is the OUR Colour

At PEI 4-H we enjoy being green both literally and figuratively. that's why we're encouraging lots of new environmentally friendly activities! Here's 5 tricks to make your everyday activities a little more eco-friendly!

• Carpool to your meetings! This saves gas, carbon emissions, money and is a good excuse to socialize! Walking or bike riding are equally good choices.
• Bring your own water bottle to meetings. North American plastic bottle production uses the same amount of oil as 110, 000 cars (Check out the image below . . . it's mindblowing!!!)
• Use recycling as a fundraiser. It's as old as the ages, but garage sales and bottle drives keep things out of our land fills and provide some money to the club.
• Wear vintage clothes. Not only are they cool, they're cheaper and a great way to recycle fashion
• Turn off the lights! Not just when your meetings are over, but when you leave a room at home. It also helps to unplug any appliances that you aren't using and prevent 'phantom' electricity waste!
