Show interest in the Project - Familiarize yoruself with the project your child chooses. Then you can help when needed. Cooperate with your child in carrying the 4-H project without actually doing it for them.
Offer a Hand - Even if you're not a leader, anything you can do to help would be appreciated. As well, clubs often need to use members' homes for general or project meetings, or for special functions - offer your home or your great sliding hill! And cookies always make a meeting better ;)!
Support 4-H Activities - Show enthusiasm and attend 4-H activities as a family. Let the kids run the club, but be available for any help they require.
Show appreciation to Local 4-H Leaders - It's easy to forget to say thanks in the hustle and bustle of life, but it means so much to those who volunteer, especiallyif it comes from your child or you!
Develop a sense of Fair Play - Remember - what the club member learns in the process of trying to win awards is always more important than the award itself. Praise your child's efforts, regardless of the outcome.
