Our screened leaders are our biggest asset. The success
of any project depends on their dedication and abilities. Screened 4-H
leaders are committed to teaching new skills in fun and creative ways,
organizing activities and helping 4-H members set and achievegoals.
They are wonderful role models for members. Some of our leaders are
artisans and skilled people who want to share their art or talent with
the next generation. Others are motivated community members who just
want to share in the development of youth in their area. Lots are
parents of members, with a mish-mash of skills and talents not
necessarily specific to the set list of 4-H projects. For potential
leaders who wonder if they actually have skills worth sharing, it's
alright for leaders to 'learn to do by doing' along the way as well, or
to create a new project in your area.
